A teenage ballroom and Latin dancer secured top marks in her exams despite spending many weeks living and training in another country.
Jessica Spence, who competes on the international stage, has been busy perfecting routines in the Netherlands with her Dutch dance partner.
With her national 5s coming up, the Williamwood High pupil had no choice but to work hard to juggle the two commitments.
Her efforts more than paid off, however, as the 16-year-old from Clarkston found out today that she had achieved seven As and a B.
Jessica said: “I felt I had prepared as well as I could for my exams, but I was away a lot for training so had to make sure I’d covered the parts of the course that I’d not been in class for.
“When I was doing the exams I felt good, so it meant I wasn’t too nervous waiting on the results."
Having won the Dutch age group championships, Jessica and her Dutch dance partner also secured a spot at the World Championships in Romania – a highlight of the season.
“It would be great to continue to pursue my dance ambitions, but I know I’ll have to balance all those commitments with preparing for my Highers next year,” she added.
