June is set to be a packed month at West Lodge, with a number of events scheduled throughout the month.
Proceedings were kicked off on Sunday past, with a children and adults fun day on June 7. Festivities went down a treat, both on the field and at the bar.
Many kids showed great skills and teamwork to complete the activities. On offer was an obstacle course, tug-o-war, kicking games and small sided rugby matches for each team to compete in — and as per tradition, the barbecue and full bar was on offer afterwards.
Following Sunday’s success, the club have now arranged a number of events to follow.
They are now looking forward to the annual beer festival on June 20, which still has a number of tickets available. This will be for all the family, with kids and adult activities both available.
For adults there is a range of bars, from prosecco bars to gin bars — and of course beer and wine tasting.
Prices per ticket is £8 for an adult, whilst under-18s go free.
Along with these events, the annual rugby camps will make a return later in the summer.
These give children the opportunity to go along to the club and try rugby — or for players to come back and better their own skills and play games with new friends.
Brandon Wamberg, community development officer for Whitecraigs, said: “The camps are a great way for children to meet new friends and try a new sport through fun games testing their basic rugby, movement and decision making skills.
“The camps are over three days — June 30 to July 2 — and August 4 to August 6.
“Each day is packed with games and activities which are split with an hours lunch break in the middle.” If you are interested in any of these dates then contact Brandon Wamberg at cdowrc@gmail.com or on mobile at 07792567672.
