A successful coffee business is doing their bit for the community by handing out free coffees to people of pension age.
Coffee Roasters Scotland’s (CRS) and their Bluey van moved to a new central location in Barrhead near the train station, off Carlibar Road, in August.
They hope the free coffees will help keep people warm during the colder weather.
Raymond Kerr from the business said: “We are giving back to our much-loved community.
“Throughout the winter months we want to gift a wee hot drink daily to our pensioners.
“We hope this helps you stay a little warmer through the winter.
“Let a member of staff know you are of state pension age, no questions asked, we will take your order.”
CRS will also be extending their opening hours to 5pm on Hallowe’en to coincide with the start of a Scarefest event taking place at personal trainer Jamie McCallum’s gym where they are located.
The van will have a game for kids and plans to give out Harry Potter sweet cups to youngsters with any purchase, while stock lasts.
As well as giving out free coffee to pensioners and getting in the spirit of Hallowe’en, they have also introduced a pay it forward initiative.
“We have now added a Pay it Forward tab to the till,” added Raymond.
“What does this mean? When someone does a kind deed for another, instead of returning the favour to them, a good deed is, in turn, done for another person.
“When you pay it forward the next person will get a drink paid by your good deed.”
