Residents at an East Renfrewshire care home have been 'overwhelmed' by community support during their harvest festival food bank appeal.
For more than a month, Newton House Care Home residents collected food for East Renfrewshire Foodbank.
At a special harvest festival event, they were eager to hand over the donations.
Robin Miller, a Newton House resident, 83, said: "We decided to support the food bank and families and friends pitched in too.
"The support from the community has been amazing.
"It feels good to help others in need and we hope this donation makes a difference."
Alongside the food donation, the care home was joined by members of Newton Mearns Parish Church, who provided a harvest service with hymns and readings.
Kerry-Anne McDade, Newton House wellbeing and lifestyle coach, said: "The day was a true delight, with the home being so busy with residents, families, and members of the community who attended to celebrate and kindly provide food bank donations.
"We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of our community.
"Thank you to everyone who donated to the appeal.
"It has been truly heart-warming to see and is a testament to the spirit of togetherness."
Eric Dobson, a 65-year-old resident, said: "Here at Newton House, we feel very much part of the community and want to support our neighbours, not just in the good times, but in the difficult times too."
The East Renfrewshire Foodbank, operated by the Trussell Trust, was opened in September 2013 and is run by volunteers and supported by local churches.
