A proposed retirement village development site near Newton Mearns is up for sale for over £5 million.
The 15.27-acre brownfield site, the former Netherplace Old Dye Works, has planning permission for a retirement village but could also be suitable for other uses with the right consent.
The site has been put on the market by joint agents, Watling Real Estate and Graham + Sibbald.
It has planning permission for an 80-bedroom, two-storey care home, 12 residential blocks, and 38 two-storey terraced houses.
Matthew Southall, an associate director at Watling’s London office, said: "This is a substantial site in an affluent area that already has permission for the development of a retirement residential community, a care home, and a multi-purpose village centre – all accessed on a new road from Aurs Road.
"Its proximity to the M77 and fast access to Glasgow city centre makes it a very attractive proposition."
The proposed development will also include a library, a bowling green and pavilion, and a village centre with a variety of leisure and recreational facilities.
These include a fitness suite and counter-current pool, clinic, restaurant, bar, nursery, shop, meeting rooms, and management offices.
Mr Southall added: "The village centre will also have two hotel-style rooms to provide temporary accommodation for visitors, staff, consultants and as respite accommodation, plus there will be a further 24 apartments within the village centre."
Keith Watters, a partner at Graham + Sibbald, said: "The site is consented and has been cleared with all existing buildings demolished so it really is ready for a developer to take forward.
"We do expect there to be significant interest on an alternative use basis."
