Play equipment has been cleaned after it was reportedly "smeared" with dog excrement and a child got her hands "covered" in the mess.
A concerned member of the public took to social media this week to warn parents not to let their kids use the play area at Rouken Glen after making the disgusting discovery.
A post shared on Facebook explained how the mess was “all over places kids would be using to place their hands”.
The person who posted the warning said it was “even in high up places and split across the slides.”
“My daughter went to climb up the ladder and got her hands covered in dog excrement,” they added.
Residents responding to the post were left aghast and called the situation “shocking” and “vile”.
East Renfrewshire Council confirmed they had been made aware of the situation and had taken action to address the issue.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: "This matter was reported to us and has since been cleared by our staff.
"Dog fouling can be reported to us via our website or calling 0800 013 0076."
