Neilston and Uplawmoor First Responders are hoping as many people as possible will join them for an opportunity to learn CPR.
This evening (Thursday, October 10) they are providing training on the life-saving skill and how to use local defibrillators at Neilston Development Trust’s hub on Main Street.
Volunteer Paramedics, Heartstart instructors, Scottish Ambulance Service staff and community first responders will be in attendance at the event.
All are welcome to come along to the classes which are on every hour until 9pm, with tea, coffee and cake available.
Graeme Milloy, ambulance paramedic and board member for the local first responders, told the Barrhead News: “Around 80% of out of hospital cardiac arrests happen at home.
“Making it more important than ever that we continue to equip as many people in the local community as possible, with the life-saving skills to commence CPR prior to an ambulance arriving.
“This combined with using a public accessible defibrillator will give someone the best possible chance of recovery.
“The Neilston and Uplawmoor Community First Responders are very passionate about improving the out of hospital cardiac arrest survival rate without our community, and invite you to join us today at the Neilston Development Trust to learn life saving CPR.”
