A site manager of an East Renfrewshire development was crowned the regional award winner at the Pride in the Job Awards 2024.

David McClure, of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, was recognised for his work at Castle Gate in Maidenhill in the large builder category.

The awards, organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC), are considered the 'Oscars' of the house-building industry.

It was held at the Hilton in Glasgow on October 4.

David also received a top-ten Seal of Excellence Award.

He said: "Winning this award is a huge honour and something I’ve been striving towards for many years.

"Along with my team at Castle Gate in Maidenhill, I am passionate about delivering homes of the highest quality, and I'm delighted that the NHBC has acknowledged our consistent efforts."

His colleague, Stuart Gillespie, was similarly recognised for his work at Taylor Wimpey's Oakwood View development in Hamilton.

The success of these two site managers contributed to a record 10 individual Pride in the Job awards for Taylor Wimpey's site managers in Scotland this year.

Brian Henderson, production director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: "Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is very important to our business, and we are delighted and very proud that David McClure’s exemplary record of years of quality and consistency has been recognised by the NHBC in these prestigious awards this year.

"David’s success reflects our drive to deliver the highest quality, service and commitment to our customers, and winning the top regional award assures homebuyers that the homes at Castle Gate continue to be of the highest quality."

Steve Wood, chief executive officer at NHBC, said: "Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s winning site manager, David McClure, demonstrated his dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards."

The regional award winners will now compete for the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, to be announced in January 2025.
