1. Caring pupils highlight global issues

(Image: Newsquest) Pupils at St Mark's in Barrhead sang carols by solar light as part of the Scotland Lights Up Malawi project. 

2. Cold callers given cold shoulder

(Image: Newsquest) The innovative work of East Renfrewshire’s environment department prevention team was recognised at the highest level. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon congratulated the team on winning the ‘Innovation in Public Service Delivery’ category at the Scottish Public Service Awards for the Call Blockers project at an awards ceremony at the Scottish Parliament.

3. St Mark's pupils raise funds for Yorkhill kids

(Image: Newsquest)Kind children at St Mark’s Primary in Barrhead raised more than £1,000 for sick children. They took part in two festive events to collect the cash for Yorkhill Hospital. 

4. Health Linwood plan gets ready for take-off

(Image: Newsquest) A new initiative to encourage Linwood residents to get active was due to get off the ground thanks in part to new funding from Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund. Almost £150,000 was set to be invested in improving the path network between the ON-X Leisure Centre and the Linwood Community Woodland, with Glasgow Airport contributing £3,000 to the cost of the project.

5. It's a mysterious thrill

(Image: Newsquest) A group of Slimming World consultants consultants from Renfrewshire got a pleasant surprise when they met singer and TV presenter Peter Andre. The team members were thrilled to get a chance to meet Peter when he co-hosted the Slimming World Awards with the organisation’s chair and founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE.

6. Burgh looking for successful 2015
