A charity in Barrhead has received £750 from a housebuilder to help support its work.

The Include Me 2 Club, which helps people with additional support needs, received the donation from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.

The money was part of a £25 donation for every home the housebuilder sold and legally completed in the first phase of new homes at the Duncarnock development in Barrhead.

This brings Taylor Wimpey West Scotland's total donations to £3,100.

The housebuilder has also pledged to extend its £25 donation project to 220 new homes at Duncarnock and will also include 44 new homes at the Arthurlie Gate development in the area.

This means a total of £6,600 will be donated to the Include Me 2 Club.

Paul McIlvenny, co-founder of Include Me 2 Club, said: "We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support that we receive from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donations.

"The money we receive is put to work to help us deliver our range of projects to the local community in Barrhead.

"On behalf of everyone who uses our service in Barrhead, I would like to say a huge thank you."

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: "We are delighted to be able to support the Include Me 2 Club in this meaningful way, and we are really pleased to be able to extend this project to phase 2 of our Duncarnock development, as well as Arthurlie Gate too.

"This form of ongoing donation supports a strong relationship with a worthy local charity that links the new community emerging at our local developments, and the existing community of Barrhead.

"Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities."
