A gym instructor has been crowned Scottish Karate Champion for the 11th time.
Dylan Rush recently took the title at the national championships in Motherwell.
The 26-year-old works as a gym instructor for East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, and uses The Grid functional training space at Barrhead Foundry as part of his training regime.
Dylan, who started karate at the age of six, is also now 91st in the world rankings, having achieved his goal to break into the top 100 this year.
His team also celebrated after winning Team of the Year at East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure's staff awards.
Dylan said: "I'm thrilled to have won the Scottish National Championships for senior male kumite (combat) category for the eleventh time and to be part of the Team of the Year.
"The gym team is fantastic to work with and they're all very supportive when it comes to my karate training, competition and personal goals, so I'd like to say a big thank you to all of them.
"It's great to see the whole team being recognised for our efforts in supporting others in reaching their fitness goals; I'm proud to be part of that.
"There have been a couple of competitions this year where I haven't achieved what I wanted, but I kept focused and worked hard and have now been named Scottish champion again.
"That's what I encourage our fitness members to do - be consistent, stick with it and you'll get there."
Dylan hopes to continue his success as he looks forward to competing at the Commonwealth karate championships in South Africa in November.
