Drivers in Barrhead are currently facing an emergency road closure.

Dovecothall Street is shut at the moment southbound between Carlibar Road and Dovecothall Roundabout.

The stretch has been shut to allow for the safe operation of Scottish Water emergency works on or near the road.

The works began on Friday, July 26 and could go on for a maximum of 21 days, but are anticipated to be complete by this Friday, August 2.

All vehicles are subject to the restriction except those associated with the works.
