A teenage girl has been left 'terrified' after being chased by a 'suspicious' man for 20 minutes.
In a post circulating on social media, a concerned parent has revealed that her 15-year-old daughter was followed by a man in Newton Mearns on Tuesday, July 16.
It is claimed the man made a 'shh' gesture and also reached his arms out towards the youngster.
It is understood the girl ran away from him before he ran after her for a total of 20 minutes.
The man then stopped and turned back but she was left 'terrified'.
Following the incident, police have confirmed they are probing the situation.
The force said they received a report of a man acting suspiciously towards a teen girl in the Harvie Avenue area of the town.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.50pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, we received a report of a man acting suspiciously towards a teenage girl in the Harvie Avenue area of Newton Mearns.
"Enquiries are ongoing.”
