Greggs has opened a new and improved Glasgow shop after temporarily closing.
We reported that the beloved bakery had shut its store in Silverburn shopping centre to undergo a move and refit.
The shop merged with the unit next door to build a larger space and the reopening has created six new jobs.
Customers can expect to shop their favourites such as sausage rolls, pizzas and steak bakes as well as two new products - the piri piri chicken and pesto and mozzarella pasta pots.
A handful of returning menu items with new and improved recipes include the sweet potato bhaji and rice, smoky Cajun rice with BBQ chicken and sweetcorn Fritters, feta & tomato pasta and chicken and bacon pasta - all of which are part of Greggs’ Balanced Choice range, meaning they’re 400 calories or less.
The Silverburn shop opens with a modern new look and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Its opening hours are:
Monday – Friday: 8am- 9pm
Saturday: 8am – 7pm
Sunday: 8am – 7pm
Gillian Long, retail operations director for Greggs, said: “We’re excited to be welcoming customers to our new and improved shop in Silverburn Glasgow, with six new members joining the existing team.
"We look forward to providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn, said: "Greggs is a firm favourite here at Silverburn and their expansion into a larger space is testament to the brand’s popularity with our guests and aligns with our ambition to continually enhance our visitor experience.”
