The council has approved planning permission for 44 new homes off Springfield Road in Barrhead.
The development by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, called Arthurlie Gate, will include four and five-bedroom detached homes from its Caledonian range and is part of the wider Barrhead South Masterplan.
The masterplan includes a new railway station, transport upgrades, and improvements to the Dams to Darnley Country Park.
Martin Findlay, technical director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are very pleased to have secured planning consent from East Renfrewshire Council, which allows us to deliver a wider choice of new homes for customers in Barrhead.
"This decision supports the redesign of the final phase of our existing Duncarnock development and is in response to customer demand for our range of larger detached homes.
“Arthurlie Gate will offer an impressive choice of four and five-bedroom detached homes from our Caledonian range, and it will complement our existing choice of homes at our neighbouring Duncarnock development in Barrhead.
“Subject to all technical consents being in place, we expect to be able to commence the programme of infrastructure in the next few months, with our intention to launch the first new homes for sale at Arthurlie Gate later this year."
