Plans for five proposed wind turbines in East Renfrewshire have taken a step forward.
A proposal of application notice has been submitted to the council for an area immediately east of Dunwan Dam, approximately 2.1 km south of Eaglesham, and 5 km south-east of Newton Mearns.
The proposed development comprises five three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbines up to 200m tip height with a generating capacity of up to 30MW.
The proposed development would also include a number of ancillary elements such as access tracks, crane hard standings and a control building, as well as temporary features such as a construction compound and laydown areas.
A PAN is not a planning application but a notice to the council advising of how the developer intends to engage with the community about their proposal.
This allows the community to put their views directly to the developer before a planning application is submitted.
Two community consultation events will take place in Eaglesham, with the first one set to take place today (Tuesday, July 2) from 3pm to 7pm at the Eglinton Arms.
The second will take place at the same location on August 22.
Members of the project team representing the applicant and developer, Wind Estate, and the agent, Green Cat Renewables, will be on hand at this drop-in session for the public.
