Drivers are facing two weeks of road closures on a busy stretch in Barrhead.

During phase one of the works Carlibar Road will be shut from its junction with Dovecothall Street up to and including its junction across from Carlibar, Primary with Stewart Street.

The street will be shut between its junctions with Stewart Street and Commercial Road during phase two.

The closures will allow for essential carriageway resurfacing works on or near the road to be carried out.

The works are scheduled to take place before Carlibar pupils return to the classroom for the new term on Wednesday, August 14.

They are due to last for a maximum of two weeks from Monday, July 29 until Friday, August 9.

All vehicles will be subject to the restriction except those associated with the works and emergency vehicles attending an incident.

The alternative route for drivers will be as follows: Carlibar Road - Cross Arthurlie Street - Main Street - Dovecothall Street and vice versa.
