WEEDS in the streets of East Renfrewshire Council will be kept under control by a new contractor.
Complete Weed Control, experts in ground maintenance and weed control, provide service in areas such as highways, construction sites, parks, and other public areas throughout the country.
Their new contract with East Renfrewshire Council started last month and will run for one year, ensuring weed control in the area's streets and footpaths with two annual treatments of a new urban herbicide.
Keith Gallacher, director of Complete Weed Control operations in the south-east and south-west of Scotland, said: "It is very satisfying to win new customers, as well, of course, as retaining existing ones, and we are delighted to have been entrusted by East Renfrewshire Council with this critical work.
"We have been investing heavily in staff training and new equipment to execute the work required both effectively and efficiently."
Since he took over the franchise for south-west Scotland in 2006, Keith has set his sights on making the Larkhall-based company Scotland's leading authority in the field.
