Drivers in East Renfrewshire face a lengthy detour during a road closure next month.
Ayr Road in Newton Mearns is to shut from its junction with Barrhead Road north-eastbound for approximately 50 metres.
The closure will be in place from Sunday, July 7 at 10pm to Monday July, 8 at 6am.
This will allow for the safe operation of crane lifting works on or near the road.
All vehicles will be subject to the restriction except those associated with the works and emergency vehicles attending an incident.
Pedestrian access will be unaffected.
The alternative route will be as follows: Ayr Road – Hunter Drive – Westacres Road – Barrhead Road – Stewarton Road -Crookfur Road – Ayr Road and vice versa, and Barrhead Road – Stewarton Road – Crookfur Road – Ayr Road and vice versa.
