A free gardening club is taking place every Wednesday at the Bank Community hub in Neilston.
The sessions run from 9.30am to 12.30pm and are taken by group leader Douglas Mathers.
No experience is necessary, but participants are asked to wear outdoor footwear and bring gloves.
The gardening club has not just been set up for practical food manufacturing and growing purposes, but also to provide a social opportunity for people to get to know members of their community with whom they share a common interest.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Gardening is an inexpensive hobby.
You don’t need a ton of fancy equipment to get started and there are no costly or expensive tools.
“All that is required are some gloves, and a pair of clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
“The NDT (Neilston Development Trust) will provide everything required to get you started on the growing path.
“On top of that, educating yourself on gardening won’t be a worry, as Dougie is very knowledgeable in the this fantastic outdoor activity.
"No fuss no fluster. Just pop down on a Wednesday to meet new friends and get creative in the community gardens."
Free coffee, tea and biscuits are provided for those coming along.
