Community yoga sessions are proving such a hit in Barrhead that an additional class has been added to the timetable.
For several years, Marta Czyz-Cameron has been delivering a traditional, matt-based yoga session at Dunterlie Resource Centre on Tuesday evenings.
Back in September, we reported that a new class had been launched at Auchenback Resource Centre (the ARC) offering chair yoga, a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or using a chair for support while standing.
Due to its success and as of last month, a new chair yoga session is now also taking place in Dunterlie, every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Marta told the Barrhead News: “Our classes are busy and we recently started an additional chair yoga class in Dunterlie.
“The chair yoga classes have had a positive impact on the community.
“It is open to all, suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
“People with limited mobility, office workers, seniors, and people recovering from injuries and individuals suffering from chronic conditions might find chair based yoga especially beneficial.”
The classes are funded and are taught by Marta on behalf of the Dunterlie Community Yoga and Well-being Group.
The class at the ARC takes place on Mondays from 11am to 12pm.
Both of the chair yoga classes cost £2.50 and £1 for a concession.
There is no need to book.
