Masses of people of all ages flocked to Neilston on Saturday (May 4) for its annual agricultural and livestock show which featured a record number of animal exhibitors.
Those who headed along to one of the biggest events on the East Renfrewshire social calendar enjoyed a packed programme of activities including everything from sheepdog trials and a vintage tractor parade to an impressive stunt display provided by experienced stunt performer Jez Avery.
A full range of field-to-fork displays was another attraction, while the main ring hosted the judging of cattle, sheep and Clydesdale horses.
There was also an educational dome marquee and rides, including a big wheel.
The event's official photographers, Barrhead's Levern Camera Club, were on hand to capture the terrific snaps featured here.
Jean Mackay Parker, Neilston Agricultural Society’s president, said: “On behalf of Neilston Agricultural Society, I’d like to thank everyone that attended, exhibited and volunteered at Neilston Show 2024.
“We had a fantastic day and were very lucky with the weather. It was a perfect day.
“We had record numbers of animal exhibitors, with various first-time visitors to the show from near and far, who we hope to see back in future years."
“I’d also like to thank all of the directors and volunteers who gave up their time in the weeks leading up to and during show weekend. Without your help the show would not go on," added Jean.
“Finally thank you to the visitors to the show from Neilston, East Renfrewshire and further afield.
“I hope you all enjoyed your day as much as I did and were entertained by the various activities taking place.”
Following the outstanding success of this year’s event, organisers are already looking ahead to 2025 which will be a landmark year in the history of the show.
“Next year is our 200th show, a historical milestone for a small show like ours,” explained Jean.
“Planning is already underway to make this a special event to remember, with more details to follow.
“I hope you will join us again for another great Neilston Show in 2025.”
