Plans have been submitted by East Renfrewshire Council for the construction of a car park and drop off area next to a Barrhead school.
The facility would be built on the site of the former Arthurlie Family Centre on Roebank Drive and would serve St Mark’s Primary.
The site has been vacant since the family centre buildings were demolished.

The works would include alterations to site access including the construction of new footways within the site.
These would also connect to the existing footways and carriageway on Roebank Drive.
The works would also include the installation of a surface water drainage system and the construction of street lighting within the car park area.

Planning permission was previously been approved for a smaller car park on the site, but a new planning application was required for the new proposed layout, which includes a drop off area as well as parking spaces.
Planners have yet to announce a decision on the proposals.
