A planning application has been submitted to East Renfrewshire Council for the installation of a mast at a beauty spot south of Eaglesham.

Mobile network operator and internet service provider EE Ltd have put forward the plans for the 45.3m lattice telecommunications tower supporting six antennas and two dishes.

The proposed location for the mast is on land at Upper Cairn, Whitelees Windfarm.

The proposal also seeks permission for a foul weather enclosure, generator and meter cabinet, and associated ancillary development including compound fencing.

The application, which no decision has been announced for yet, was received by the council on December 4 and validated this week on April 3.
