A wellness group, which offers a place for women to meet enjoy, enjoy lunch and forge friendships, welcomed a special visitor this week.

Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South, headed along to the weekly meeting of Neilston Golden Girls at Crofthead Bowling Club yesterday (Wednesday, March 4).

Raymond Kerr, who runs the group, told the Barrhead News: “Another great day was had by all attendees who enjoyed their local Dunbar butcher steak pie, which they all said was great.

“The ladies were thrilled that we were visited by a VIP. They really appreciated that he took the time to call on them to introduce himself and speak to members.

“It was noted that Tom took the time to learn more about the group and what we do for the Neilston community and we appreciate his offer of any held in bringing it forward.”
