A teenager has been rushed to hospital after a car burst into flames on a road on the outskirts of Barrhead.
We previously reported that Barrhead Road was closed by cops due to a crash near Hurlet Cross.
The incident happened on Saturday evening at around 7pm.
Officers were called to the scene and found the incident involved two vehicles.
A fire started in one of the cars due to the collision, and this was put out by firefighters.
One driver, a 19-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.
The force arrested the same man in connection with alleged road traffic offences.
Cops are continuing to investigate what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 we were made aware of a two-vehicle crash on Barrhead Road, Glasgow, which resulted in a fire in one of the vehicles.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.
“One of the drivers, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The same man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries are ongoing."
