Children waved goodbye to their current schools and nursery yesterday (March 14) ahead of moving into their new building next week.
The new Neilston Learning Campus will open its doors to pupils on Tuesday, March 19, bringing together St Thomas’ Primary, Neilston Primary and Madras Family Centre under one shared roof.
St Thomas’ Primary, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in a few weeks’ time, posted pictures on their social media yesterday of children leaving their Broadlie Road building one final time.
The photographs show the pupils giving a “final wave and a goodbye” on their way out of the school.

Pupils also left their mark on the inside of the building by writing messages and drawing pictures on the walls and leaving handprints.

At Neilston Primary, P7a had a fantastic last day in their building, reminiscing about their favourite memories, helping headteacher Gerard Curley and drawing graffiti on the walls before finishing off with a class party.

To mark the last day in their building, P5/6, meanwhile, spent the day taking part in a range of activities which allowed them to reflect on their time spent there.

As they marked the end of an era and the beginning of a new one, Neilston Primary also praised the outstanding contributions of the now S1 pupils who helped to inform the design of the new school back in 2020.
Many of their ideas and concepts have come to life in the real life design of their new building that opens next week, the school said.
Children are off today and Monday ahead of the new building opening its doors on Tuesday, March 19.
