Staff at a fast-food outlet have launched a mission to “give back to the community of Barrhead”.
Workers from Scotland’s first Popeyes have been out cleaning the roadside along Glasgow Road, filling eight full bags of rubbish.
Sharing the news on social media, Popeyes Barrhead’s general manager Kris Gault said: “We will be continuing this effort around Barrhead over the next few weeks.”
A new community board has also been installed at the eatery, with “any local clubs etc” invited to put a poster up.
The restaurant opened to great fanfare back in September, bringing flavours of Louisiana to Scotland with its signature 12-hour marinated chicken and original southern biscuits and gravy.
The outlet at Barrhead retail park has a dining area for 56 people, with 16 seats outside, as well as a drive-thru, with some queuing for as long as 18 hours ahead of its opening.
“We again want to thank Barrhead for being such an incredibly welcoming and supportive community for us to launch our brand in Scotland,” added Kris.
