The two Barrhead secondary schools that received outstanding inspection reports have now received a special mention in a Holyrood motion.
Scottish Labour MSP for West Scotland Paul O’Kane praised St Luke’s High School and Barrhead High School for their remarkable reports from Education Scotland following inspections made last year.
As a proud former student and head boy of St Luke’s, O'Kane MSP said: “The motion is my way of congratulating the pupils, the staff and the parents of these two fantastic schools.
“Being part of either institution should fill anyone with pride and shows beyond doubt that Barrhead is a great place to live and for young people to thrive. This is a very proud moment for the town.
“I’m very happy that the work put in by both headteachers has been singled out for praise.
“East Renfrewshire is known for offering the best when it comes to schools and St Luke’s High and Barrhead High have just reinforced that reputation."
