Two East Renfrewshire schools have received £200 from the local masonic lodge following a Burns competition.
The competition at Neilston Primary and St Thomas’ Primary was sponsored by the Lodge Thistle & Crown.
Norrie Campbell, the current master of the lodge, and Archie Chalmers, past chairman of Irvine Burns Club, visited both schools last week to congratulate the winners and present the cheques.
The joint winners at Neilston Primary were Susie Stevenson and Lois Elrick who formed an excellent violin duo.
The winner at St Thomas’, meanwhile, was Tehila Israel who created a lovely piece of artwork inspired by the Bard.
On behalf of Lodge Thistle & Crown, Norrie said he was delighted by the hard work and interest the pupils at both schools had shown in the competition and congratulated the winners.
