Alpino’s on Cross Arthurlie Street was named ‘Best Dine in Restaurant’ and ‘Best Family Business’ after a public vote.

She presented owners Alka and Tarsem Kumar with the motion when she went along to Alpino's premises last Friday.
Kirsten Oswald MP told the Barrhead News: “I was delighted to learn that Alpino’s Fish and Chips had been named as the winner of both the ‘Best Dine in Restaurant’ and the ‘Best Family Business’ categories at the Scottish Fish and Chips Awards.
“It was excellent to visit Alpino’s and hear all about their success and the lovely response from local customers to the news of their award.
“I was happy to present them with a copy of the Early Day Motion I tabled at Westminster celebrating their achievement.
“In East Renfrewshire, we are very lucky to have so many fantastic local businesses like Alpino’s, and we should support them at every opportunity.
