1. A Barrhead beauty was on the cusp of reaching the grand finals of a national competition to find Scotland’s “beer belle”. Mum-of-one Gillian Brewis cemented her place in the top 10 of the competition, which was entered by hundreds of women from across Scotland.
2. Members of Neilston Slimming World group were set to take part in a six-week sponsored weight loss challenge with all funds raised going to Brightest Star and the Clutha Appeal.
3. Crafty Carlibar pupils enjoyed a special day of art workshops as a supermarket giant brought a national contest to town. The Tesco Bank Art Competition for Schools arrived in Barrhead and P5 and P6 classes took part in sessions led by the National Galleries of Scotland education team.
4. Our photographer was invited along to St John’s Primary's after school club as pupils got their shooting boots on. Playing in the main hall at the Commercial Road School, youngsters showed off their best moves.
5. Fourteen teams were set to meet to contest the third annual East Renfrewshire Fairtrade Football Festival. The seven-a-side tournament was organised by East Renfrewshire Council and East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce.
6. Neilston produced one of their best performances of the season when they hit First Division side Yoker Athletic for six at Brig O’Lea Stadium. Hat-tricks from Darren Christie and Adam Nisanci helped the Farmer’s Boys progress through to the last 16 of the West of Scotland Cup.
