East Renfrewshire Council is reminding residents that its employability service is ready to help residents "prepare for, find and get into work this new year."
The Work EastRen team, who are based in Barrhead’s Lowndes Street, help people find training or employment and through 1-to-1 support, “ensure anyone they support is job ready, confident and prepared for the world of work.”
A wide-range of support programmes are available, which aim to help different groups of people including long-term unemployed, parents, young and care-experienced people, those with a health condition and anyone resettled in East Renfrewshire.
Councillor Danny Devlin, convener for environment and housing, told Barrhead News: “Work EastRen provide an excellent service to both residents and businesses across East Renfrewshire.
“No matter your circumstances, they will be able to tailor a package of support to suit your needs.”
The team offer vocational training programmes aimed at improving applicant’s job chances and these range from one-off workshops to longer, more intensive accredited courses.
All clients are assigned an adviser who can help with CVs, interview skills and training.
A dedicated Business Liaison Officer also provides a wide range of support and services to local employers, including a free vacancy and recruitment service and access to employment recruitment incentives.
“If you’re searching for your next role, wanting to upskill or looking for guidance on recruitment, get in touch and see how the team can help,” added Cllr Devlin.
