A free Burns supper is being held for pensioners in East Renfrewshire next month.
The event at Neilston Development Trust’s community hub The Bank on Main Street is set to take place on Friday, February 2.
The 2pm sitting is now full, but as of yesterday (Monday, January 15), there were still some places left at the 12pm sitting.
Those coming along will enjoy a two-course Scottish menu of warm Scottish soup and haggis, neeps and tatties or stew, neeps and tatties.
There will also be tea, coffee, shortbread and biscuits on offer as well as some free refreshments.
Haggis-baiting, poetry patter and live pipe music will be provided by the Caledonian Cowboy pipe and toastmaster Johnny Gauld.
There will also be a Robert Burns quiz with prizes, so those attending are urged to brush up on their knowledge of the bard ahead of the big event.
Places must be booked and are open to all pensioners from the village on a first come first served basis.
