AN investigation has been launched after a teen was followed by a suspicious man while walking home in Giffnock.
Officers say that they received a report of a man acting suspiciously on Rowand Avenue in the town on Monday, January 8.
It comes after one resident took to social media to warn others in the area after their 17-year-old daughter was followed by a man on Sunday evening.
They claim that while the girl was walking home, she was aware of a man standing on the other side of the road on his phone.
Shortly after that, the local says her daughter then felt a "hand on her shoulder" - which turned out to be the man who was looking for directions.
He is then said to have offered the youngster a drink and food, which she declined.
After walking away, the man reportedly followed the girl, while asking her questions.
Following the incident, police have since confirmed an investigation has been launched.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 10.55am on Monday, January 8, officers received a report of a man acting suspiciously on Rowand Avenue, Glasgow.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
