Scottish Water (SW) has warned that residents in part of East Renfrewshire may experience discoloured water.
It follows SW reporting earlier this afternoon that they have been investigating a loss of water supply/low pressure in the G46 area.
A post by the water supplier on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: “Customers in G46 may experience discoloured water.
“We'd advise you to run your cold water tap in the kitchen only at half pressure till it runs clear again.
“Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
Explaining the situation further, the latest update on SW’s website said that water supplies in Giffnock had previously been affected by a burst water pipe but are now returning to normal.
“We thank you for your patience and understanding during the incident,” it added.
“We have carried out a full repair of the fault and are now returning to normal service.
“The road surface has also been reinstated.
“Due to the complex nature of the repair, including the location and access to the pipe, the repair took longer than expected.
"We understand the impact that this has had on our customers.
“Our team will remain on site for a short time to carry out any residual clean-up tasks.
“Water supply is being restored but you may experience low/intermittent pressure issues, which could be due to an airlock in the pipes."
