A BARRHEAD school girl has won a local politician Christmas card competition.
It comes after Eve Lavety from Hillview Primary School was crowned the winner of Labour MSP Paul O'Kane's annual festive competition.
The youngsters' winning design was a picture of a snowman.
The runners-up in the competition were Rory Turnball from Cross Arthurlie Nursery and Grace O'Reilly from Hillview Primary.
Each year, the MSP asks schools and nurseries across the West of Scotland region to submit artwork of their pupil's for the competition.
Following their success, the politician presented the three youngsters with a prize and thanked them for their participation.
Paul O'Kane MSP said: “The Christmas card competition is a really fun part of the job and to be honest it’s the first thing that gets me feeling quite festive each year.”
“I’m delighted for all three of them because they seemed very chuffed and so they should be.
“Their drawings will be seen by almost 2,000 people up and down the country, who I’m sure will love my card because of their artwork.
“All the entries I received were brilliant this year, there was just something particularly special about the three made by Eve, Grace and Rory."
