A YOUTH has been charged after allegedly being caught with a knife following a "struggle" with cops in Barrhead.
It comes after officers stopped a youngster in possession of alcohol on Cross Arthurlie Street in the town on Saturday, December 16.
Following that, police then "struggled" with the boy and then reportedly recovered suspected drugs and a knife.
He has since been arrested and charged.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On the evening of Saturday, December 16, officers stopped a youth possessing alcohol on Cross Arthurlie Street, Barrhead.
"Following a struggle, officers recovered suspected controlled drugs and a knife.
"He was arrested and charged.
"A report will be submitted to the Children's Reporter."
