A PERSON has allegedly been handed a fine after cops in East Renfrewshire carried out checks on motorists.
It comes after officers carried out a day of action at Giffnock and Clarkston taxi ranks on Tuesday, December 12, along with licensing staff from East Renfrewshire Council.
During it, police gave advice to festive travellers while they also checked cars and drivers.
One fixed penalty notice was issued during the day.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Tuesday, December 12, officers and licensing staff from East Renfrewshire Council carried out a day of action at Giffnock and Clarkston taxi ranks.
"We gave safety advice to pass on to festive travellers and carried out checks on drivers and cars.
"One fixed penalty notice was issued during the day."
