East Renfrewshire churches are putting on a joint carol service supported by the Govan Salvation Army Band this month.
Neilston Parish Church is hosting the event with Barrhead St Andrew’s and Bourock Parish Churches on Wednesday, December 20 at 7pm.
The service is open to all who would like to attend.
It will see the band lead congregational singing of some of the most popular and well-known Christmas carols, as well as playing some pieces of their own.
The Rev Tim Mineard, the minister at Barrhead St Andrew’s, told the Barrhead News: “There will also be some choral pieces with singers taking part from all three congregations.
“This includes a brand-new song composed and written by Karen McAulay, the organist at Neilston Parish Church.
“A certain special guest will also be making an appearance towards the end of the evening, and the service will be followed by hot drinks and mince pies.
“Entrance to the event is free, although there will also be an opportunity to give towards the work of the Govan Salvation Army through a retiring collection.”
