A TEENAGER was attacked and robbed of an £8k Rolex watch in Barrhead at the weekend.
The street mugging took place in Kirkton Avenue at around 10pm on Saturday.
Police said the 18-year-old victim suffered head and hand injuries and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment before being released.
They have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
Rolex watches are among the most sought-after timepieces in the world and retail for anything between £3,750 and £68,000.
The victim, who is not being named, was also robbed of his iPhone and jacket.
Officers have been reviewing footage from CCTV cameras in the area as part of their investigation.
A police spokesperson said: "Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting incident 3580 of 18/11/23."
