A PRIMARY school in Clarkston has been highlighted at the UK parliament after celebrating a major milestone.
It comes after Netherlee Primary Schools staff and pupils were presented with an Early Day Motion by East Renfrewshire's MP Kirsten Oswald after the school celebrated its 90th birthday.
The milestone was marked by pupils and staff in several ways including a talent show, parties, art projects, and a special podcast called 90 Years in 90 Minutes - hosted by students who interviewed current staff and former pupils.
On top of that, an aerial drone photo was also taken of pupils in the playground lined up to form a huge number 90.
Kirsten Oswald MP said: "I was thrilled to visit Netherlee Primary School to present the staff and pupils with an Early Day Motion I tabled at Westminster to mark the school's 90th birthday.
"It was great to see the amazing photographs, artwork, and new library, during the tour led by the students.
"Netherlee Primary School plays an important role in the local community and that is a testament to the hard work of pupils and staff alike.
"I'd like to thank all the staff and pupils who looked after me during my visit and I wish them all the very best for the next 90 years."
The school first opened its doors to pupils in 1933.
