Frightfully-good fun was on offer as Barrhead staged its annual Hallowe’en celebrations.
Thousands of people attended Saturday’s event, organised by All About Barrhead, which is the area’s Business Improvement District and supports the town’s traders.
Those who went along were able to enjoy a packed programme of entertainment that included pumpkin carving, funfair rides and crafts from noon before a spectacular parade made its way through the streets of Barrhead, with musicians and street performers leading the way.
The parade set off from the Tesco car park, before heading along Cross Arthurlie Street, Carlibar Road and towards Main Street.
It ended up in front of the Asda store, where there was live entertainment from Pulse FM, before a fireworks display brought the celebrations to an end.
A spokesperson for All About Barrhead said: “We carved over 300 pumpkins, had 200 entries to our Little Barrhead Colouring Competition, 600 people in the parade and topped it off with four fabulous costume winners, each walking away with a £50 East Renfrewshire Gift Card.
“Special thank-you to McDonald’s, in Bowerwalls Place, who donated the prizes for our best parade groups.
“St Mark’s Primary School scooped the top prize of £500, with Le Dance Studio and In Cahootz winning the runners-up prizes of £200 and £100 respectively.”
