TRAIN services from Glasgow to Barrhead have been cancelled due to a signalling fault on the line this morning.
ScotRail announced services running from the city to the town, and then to Kilmarnock and Carlisle will not be able to operate until the fault has been rectified.
It is due to a signalling system issue between Pollokshaws West and Barrhead.
According to ScotRail, the following services are currently suspended:
- Glasgow Central to Barrhead
- Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock
However, the rail operator has said the Glasgow Central to Newcastle/Carlisle via Dumfries service could run via Barrasie in South Ayrshire should the traincrew allow.
In the meantime, the rail operator has said local bus services will accept tickets from rail passengers.
The services include:
- X76: Glasgow - Kilmarnock (Stagecoach)
- X77 Glasgow to Ayr (Stagecoach)
- 03: Glasgow to Barrhead (McGill's)
- 51: Barrhead to Paisley (McGill's)
- 54: Neilston to Paisley Gilmour Street (McGill's)
- 337 Dunlop to Kilmarnock (McGill's)
