A YOUNG Lidl super fan queued outside the new Barrhead store for over TWO hours to make sure he was first through the door on its opening day.
Wiktor Pegza from the town was "looking forward" to the shops opening that much this morning at 8am that he decided to queue from 6.30am.
The 14-year-old was keen to get a "general look" around the new store, but also pick himself up a few bits including cheese-topped rolls and cookies from the bakery.
On entry to the venue, the young lad was applauded by the team and fellow punters for his dedication after waiting so long.
Describing the moment, a spokesperson for Lidl said: "It was a really nice moment."
It comes after we previously reported that the supermarket chain opened its new store in the town's retail park on Thursday, September 28.
The new venue, which replaces the old one on Kelburn Street, will offer local residents "top quality" produce at "great values prices".
It features a range of new modern facilities including customer toilets and an in-store bakery.
Lidl GB's Regional Head of Property, Gordon Rafferty, told the Barrhead News: "We look forward to continuing to offer the local community our range of award-winning, great value produce."
