A MAJOR supermarket chain has officially opened its new store in Barrhead this morning.
Lidl opened its new shop in the town’s retail park at 8am on Thursday, September 28.
Situated on Glasgow Road, the new store, which will replace the old one on Kelburn Street, will offer local residents “top quality” produce at “great value prices.”
It will be open from 8am till 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 9pm on Sunday.
The new store features a 1,257-metre sales area, along with new modern facilities including customer toilets, and an in-store bakery.
Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Gordon Rafferty, commented: "It has been fantastic to start welcoming customers through the doors at our new store in Barrhead Retail Park today.
"We look forward to continuing to offer the local community our range of award-winning, great value produce.”
