A head teacher has hit out at "mindless vandalism" at a nursery which saw toys broken and paint splattered up the building.
The community at Cart Mill Family Centre in Newford Grove in Clarkston were dismayed by the scene after the incident over the September break.
Ahead of children returning to the facility on Tuesday, staff and parents rallied round to clean up the mess, which also included broken padlocks and bikes thrown in the mud.
Acting Head Teacher Angela Kerr told the Barrhead News: "It is disappointing that this mindless vandalism has taken place, which has left our whole Cart Mill community extremely saddened.
“I did take great comfort from the way staff and families rallied round over the weekend to tidy up the mess and the support of colleagues in the council, which made sure we were able to open for our children on Tuesday morning.
“We will continue to work closely with police, colleagues and our community wardens to tackle these types of issues."
The family centre also took to social media to thank staff and parents for their efforts.
The post said: “Thanks to staff and parents who helped clear up our vandalised garden.
“In spite of paint splattered up the building, broken padlocks, toys scattered/broken and bikes thrown in the mud we managed to clean it up ready for children tomorrow.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.20am on Monday, September 25, we were made aware of vandalism to a premises in Newford Grove, Clarkston, Glasgow.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
