EAST Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure (ERCL) has introduced a series of new classes to its “extensive fitness” timetable.
It comes after the fitness team welcomed new instructors to support the local community in achieving their fitness and well-being goals.
New classes will include a pilates freestyle class at Barrhead Foundry on Wednesday and Friday evenings, a body pump class, and a yoga freestyle class.
While at Eastwood Park Leisure a new Les Mills body combat class will be added, as well as a body attack class, a Tai Chi class, a line dancing class and another pilates freestyle class.
Meanwhile, Eastwood High Sports Centre will host new classes including aqua fit, body balance, and Les Mills core.
Jenna McCallion, gyms and fitness co-ordinator at ERCL, said: "We're excited to launch our brand new classes, add to our fitness timetable, and welcome new instructors to join our team.
"Our brand new teen strength class will support young locals in learning gym techniques like deadlifting, squatting, and will concentrate on all major muscle groups and compound moves.
"The class is for ages 14 and above and will ensure juniors are learning how to do these exercises effectively and safely, taken by local instructor Emma Burrows on Fridays at 3.30pm at Barrhead Foundry.
"The Functional Training class is another new addition to our timetable, led by our gym team in our Studio at Barrhead Foundry, on Fridays at 5pm.
"It's an intense cardio-based circuits class where we do various exercises as part of a team with functional movements, so you'll get better at working in the gym and at home as well.
"We'll be doing squat jumps and burpees and using equipment like the rower and SkiErg, tackling all the functional training exercises that you see in the gym.
"There's a bit of a competitive element to it and you'll push yourself to the limit. It's challenging but really beneficial and you'll see great results.
"Our new Les Mills Body Combat sessions will keep you fighting fit, and we're excited to welcome our fitness members and pay-as-you-go customers to new classes at Eastwood Park Leisure, Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood High Sports Centres."
Kenny McDonnell, Gyms and Fitness Team Leader at ERCL, added: "We have an exceptional, enthusiastic team who are committed to supporting our customers and helping them to achieve their fitness goals.
"Our fitness membership offers access to three gyms, three swimming pools and over 100 fitness classes per week and it's fantastic to expand our timetable and team to help residents keep active."
