A NEW restaurant and bar in Newton Mearns is set to officially open its doors this weekend.

The Malletsheugh Bar and Restaurant on Ayr Road in the town have announced that they will open for bookings from Sunday, August 27.

We previously reported that the eatery was due to open following “massive refurbishment works.

It will serve up authentic Indian and Scottish dishes.

Taking to social media to announce the news, they said: “We are pleased to announce we are opening the Malletsheugh Bar and Restaurant for bookings from this Sunday.”

The restaurant also said their bar will be open from Sunday as well.

Residents flocked to the comments to share their excitement of the news.
