A BUILDER who is managing a new housing development in East Renfrewshire has won a major award for his work.
David McClure, who is the Senior Site Manager at Taylor Wimpey’s Castle Gate development in Maidenhill, scooped an accolade at the National House-Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
The award was given to the local site manager to celebrate his dedication to building high-quality homes.
On top of that, it's not the first time David has won - he has already bagged it 11 times over the years.
In total, 443 site managers across the UK won it.
David said: “To be recognised as one of the UK’s top site managers once again is a huge honour.
“The team at Castle Gate and I continue to be passionate about delivering homes of the highest quality, and I’m delighted that our efforts have been acknowledged once again for this site.
“This is my 11th award, and it follows in my top ten ‘Seal of Excellence Award’ last year for this development too.
“I am really thrilled with our consistent performance in these national awards.”
As part of the awards, site managers are assessed across six areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
Brian Henderson, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “This is a huge achievement for David and we’re extremely proud of his continued success.
“These awards are highly regarded in the house-building industry and David’s latest win gives homebuyers the assurance that the homes at Castle Gate continue to be of the highest quality.”
Steve Wood, CEO of the NHBC, added: “This accolade recognises the best site managers across the UK and celebrates how much David McClure has inspired his team by going the extra mile to deliver homes of the highest quality.”
